LENSPECIAL has realized a full package of Rehabilitation and Surgery for Low Vision patients suitable for an unilateral or bilateral implant. This "package" includes an expert software (SAVAplus - Software for Automatic Visual Assessment), two intraocular lenses (IOL-VIP system), an IOL-VIP simulator (for pre-operative test on the final result) and a comprehensive rehabilitation program.

This exclusive system allows a targeted selection of eligible patients, patients selected from those with stable macular degeneration.
Using the simulator the doctor could determine the orientation of the intraocular lenses (in order to build a prism that diverts to the periphery of the scotoma the path's light to inside of the eye) and the type of rehabilitation project. The rehabilitation project begins 15 days before and ends three months after implantation. The exercises are collected in a file that can be used at the clinic or at the patient's home.
